As you can see from our currently failing stock market, corporate bailouts and unemployment statistics, local businesses are the backbone and FUTURE of our country. When you buy something from a local business, you are supporting that business, you are supporting someone who employs local people, and you are probably supporting someone who buys locally from other local businesses.
1) You purchase from a local business.
2) That local business owner now has money to spend in the community (food, clothes, fun stuff, etc.)
3) The money that the local business spends in the community, goes to other local business owners.
4) Local business owners have more business and need to hire more local people.
4) More money for local businesses could also translate into local businesses being able to provide benefits to their employees (health insurance, pension, etc.)
5) Local people have more money to buy from local businesses (go to step 1)
As you can see, buying from local businesses helps to build our local economy and keep money in the USA.
