N.E. Pennsylvania Manufacturers
It is difficult to say how many American manufacturing jobs have been sent overseas since the 1980's, but other than military defense and the auto industry, the USA barely manufactures a small fraction of what it used to 25+ years ago.
Although not local, I would like to mention that supporting NASA and our space program, has its advantages, because their research produces many of the eco-friendly technologies we need to start using today, for example: fuel cells, thermal blankets, ammonia free refrigeration, photovoltaic, etc. Every technology and associated patent that NASA creates, can be leased by businesses to develop, manufacture and sell these new technologies. To ponder: Have we already started to outsource the manufacturing of parts of military killing devices to foreign countries? What will foreign countries do with this technology?
