By promoting all of the valuable facets of our particular community both within our geographic area, and to nearby communities, we retain more wealth and resources for the residents of this area. We become more independent of hostile foreign influences, require less government intervention, become less sensitive to the rise and fall of the stock market, and can educate our people to become more involved in building an independent and sustainable local economy.
There are other areas of the country that are enacting ideas such as this. It is time for NEPA to start to recognize their own inherent value, and to retain and grow that value into a society independent of foreign and indifferent corporate influences.
